Intensive Russian Assaults Cut Power In Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
The country's power facilities have faced increased strikes in recent weeks

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were plunged into darkness and dealt with interruptions to water systems, as stated by local authorities.

Simultaneously, a minor was killed in a distinct aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has increased strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and enforcing penalties," he wrote in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty projectiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

The energy minister said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and repair crews were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, according to municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the urban area endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A minor lost their life and multiple civilians were injured.

The assaults follow nights of air raids in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was purposely seeking to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

He said technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
